Maxalto
Maxalto was founded in 1975 as a company alongside B&B Italia, defining its own precise identity in the specialised production of highly crafted furniture. Seeking the highest quality in materials and workmanship is the goal of excellence declared in the very name: Maxalto from the Venetian dialect "massa alto", meaning "the highest".
In terms of form, the research looks to the past by revisiting classic forms. Afra and Tobia Scarpa are the interpreters of this, authors of a series of furnishings that make wood the protagonist through the use of ancient and rare processes typical of cabinet-making and violin-making. Thus sculptural wooden furniture is born, such as the Africa chair (Artona collection) and the New Harmony collection.
